Weather Delay Procedures

If FCPS calls for a 2-hour delay to the school day due to the weather, school will begin at 10:40. Check here for more detailed information on weather closures, delays and early dismissals.

Elementary Institute of the Arts ( EIFTA)

Students in all FCPS schools can enroll in the Elementary Institute for the Arts (EIFTA). EIFTA is a weekly arts enrichment program for students in rising 3rd through 6th grades and will be held during the month of July. Students take classes in art, music, theatre, and dance every day. Transportation is provided from around the county. Tuition assistance is available for students who qualify. Check out the website for more information or email [email protected]

SOL Testing | May 1 - May 26 | Retakes May 30 - June 2

Please mark your calendars. It is important your student is at school for these assessments. There is very little time allotted for make-up sessions for absent students 3 - 6th grades who will be taking the SOL's in reading and math. 5th grade will also be taking science. Parent permission is needed for retesting. The retesting form needs to be filled out if you have not already filled out the form at the beginning of the school year.

2023 Lenny Day

Lenny day is Lynbrook ES spin on St. Patrick's Day. Since the school mascot is a leprechaun, for St. Paddy's day the school goes all out with classrooms activities by setting up traps to catch "Lenny the leprechaun" but to no avail. It's really a fun day every year where students love writing up signs asking Lenny not to trash their classrooms and they setup traps to "catch" him.

Lynbrook Elementary Turns Garden Plots Over to Families, Who Grow Food for Own Tables

Lynbrook Elementary School has turned over school garden plots to eight families who are learning from master gardeners, growing food for their own dinner tables, and teaching their children the importance of eating vegetables.
